2017 Camper Registration

WHAT IS DAY CAMP?

Day Camp is three days of fun and excitement within a Christian Environment for children in Grades 1-7.

Each day the children will meet at the Roma Uniting Church, then travel by bus to the Day Camp site.

The Day Camp program offers a chance for campers to discover more about nature, about themselves, about God and to learn new skills and yet have the security of sleeping at home each night.

There will be daily Christian input and children are expected to be courteous, have respect for camp staff and participate in the whole program.

Swearing, destruction of property, bullying of other children and other inappropriate behavior will result in the child being withdrawn from the camp.

This Day Camp is organized by the Maranoa & Clevelands Uniting Church with assistance from community volunteers and Roma Combined Christian Churches.

 LEADERSHIP

Day Camp is coordinated by the Maranoa Uniting Church, together with Roma Combined Christian Churches, trained team leaders, assistant leaders, apprentice leaders and helpers. All camp personnel will be involved to ensure proper supervision and maximum enjoyment of all campers.

SECURITY

All children must be signed in and out of the program each day by their parent or guardian or by others who must be nominated by their parents by way of a signed letter of authority, bearing the signature of nominated person/s.

Children will stay at the Uniting Church grounds until being signed out. No child will be allowed to leave the church property or the Day Camp site unless they are signed out. Please work with us to ensure the safety of your children. All children must be picked up at the designated time.

Camper numbers are determined by leader/child ratio of 1 to 6

What is Roma Day Camp?

Roma Day Camp is a wholesome 3-day holiday activity for the kids.

Day Camp is a learning & adventure programme
run over 3 days for primary school age children.
The campers can participate in adventure
games, singing and craft activities, gunyah
making, challenge activities, sports & more. It also
involved a large number of adult and high school
aged leaders and helps to make it possible.

Day Camp is a way young people can be
introduced to the love God has for them, the
sense of community that comes from living in a
camping environment, and a way they can
appreciate the wonder of God’s creation.

.

Camp runs from Tuesday 7th – Thursday 9th July. Activities run during the day, and campers return home in the afternoon. Transport is provided in the mornings and afternoons.

.

(billeting is available for out-of-town campers – please contact Rev. Faye Talatonu for more information, see contact details at the bottom of this page)
